"Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse" is an animated superhero film released in 2018 that introduces audiences to a groundbreaking and visually stunning take on the Spider-Man universe. Soon after, Miles witnesses the original Spider-Man, Peter Parker, battling the supervillain Kingpin. During the fight, Kingpin activates a particle accelerator, which opens a rift to other dimensions. Peter tries to stop Kingpin but is fatally injured. In his dying moments, Peter imparts his knowledge to Miles and encourages him to carry on as Spider-Man.
Miles begins to struggle with his newfound abilities and the responsibility that comes with them. He creates a crude Spider-Man suit and attempts to stop Kingpin's plans to use the particle accelerator again. Along the way, he encounters other Spider-People who have been pulled into his dimension, including Spider-Woman (Gwen Stacy), Spider-Man Noir, Spider-Ham, and Peni Parker with her mech suit.
Together, this group of diverse Spider-People forms an unlikely team and decides to work together to stop Kingpin and return to their respective dimensions. They begin to train Miles in using his powers effectively and help him embrace his identity as Spider-Man.
As the team gets closer to stopping Kingpin, they learn more about each other's backgrounds and the challenges they face in their own dimensions. The movie explores themes of identity, responsibility, and the idea that anyone can wear the mask of Spider-Man.
In the final showdown, Miles faces off against Kingpin, who has harnessed the particle accelerator's power to bring back his deceased family from another dimension. Miles ultimately prevails, and the other Spider-People return to their own dimensions using a portable device created by Peni Parker.
Miles returns to his own dimension and continues to protect his city as Spider-Man. He also mends his relationship with his father and develops a strong bond with Gwen Stacy, who decides to stay in his dimension for a while. The movie ends with a hint that the Spider-Verse is still connected, leaving the door open for future adventures.
